Even so, his team secured third place in the race, with Prost as the great winner and De Cesaris as second!

Years later, Ayrton Senna was honored with a plaque at the Donington Museum: “THE GREATEST LAP OF THE CENTURY” to celebrate the beautiful victory at the racetrack.
